Oakley Talent Days at the Kitzsteinhorn

Last weekend, I was at Kitzsteinhorn with Oakley to coach the girls, who came to shred with us at the Oakley Talent Day. Luggi Brucic, who coached the boys, and me had so much fun riding with those motivated and great kids. They really made this day a special one. Afterwards we had a fun signing session at the Intersport Bründl in Kaprun. Big thanks to Oakley and Qparks for organizing this day.

Thanks to Voelkl, Marker and Dalbello for my new touring gear!!!

Last weekend I spent a night up in a small hut in my home mountains. The ski touring up there was really beautiful and almost mystic. The temperatures where not higher then -18°C and it was freezing. Because of the cold every tree, pillow and snow was covered with thousands of ice crystals. In the morning sun, the next day, everything was glinting and looked just epic.
Thanks to my new Völkl Amaruq, I had so much fun skinning up this mountain and also riding down in the fresh pow.

Stoked on my new touring gear!!!

Cheers,

Caja
My new Amaruq in the morning sun.
Deep fresh.
Epic!
It was cold for sure!

My first signature TSG Pro Design helmet, sooo stoked…(-;

When my TSG Teammanager told me last summer, that I got the chance to design my own helmet, I was super stoked and excited about that. Right away, I started to brainstorm and think about what I’d like to do. Shortly afterwards, I met coincidentally the young and talented designer Eli MichieI (www.elmi-design.com) at a dinner with friends in Munich. We got along perfectly from the start and were on the same wavelength, which to me was very important in this amazing project. Eli is super outgoing, creative and immediately had the sense to what I was looking for and what was going on in my creative-messed up head. Pretty soon, we created the "deer"-idea which pretty much ht the nail right on the head. We both agreed that the stately "deer" should be the focus of the design.
The main color I chose for my Lotus helmet comes with a matte pastel green color way. The deer is the huge illustration from elmi on the side, which she implemented perfectly. There are more illustrative elements on the back of the helmet as well as on the straps and within the TSG front logo.
This is the first time that I got the chance to design a piece of equipment myself. The entire process, from the initial ideas to the moment of holding the finalized helmet in my hands, was really cool for me.
An extremely durable hard-shell helmet, the Lotus only weights 479 grams. Featuring a low fit and cosy, soft neck section it protects the upper cervical vertebras as well as the temples. The helmet’s anatomical shape has been precisely adapted to the natural curves of the head and hugs it like a second safety skin, including a slim low profile and perfect fit.
My helmet is available in fall 2012 for snowboarders and skiers in the trade. I hope you like it and that I see some of you guys riding around with a couple of my helmets next year.
First day with my new helmet, feels sooo good(-;
Eli workin on the design... GOOD JOB! THANKS ELI!
